Shuttle Service from Alghero to Neptune Grotto

Aggiornamento: 4 mag

The Motorships offer daily connections and depart from the port of Alghero, at Garibaldi dock. By boat, you can admire the beauty of this unspoilt territory and quickly visit all the coast, before arriving at destination.

Inside the cave, carved out for over millions of years by the water, there is the beautiful La Marmora Lake, about 120 meters long which is a tribute to Alberto La Marmora, Italian geographer after whom it takes its name, who first of all, explored these shores.

WELCOME TO SARDINIA OPINION: With 20 minute-trip you can reach the Caves of Neptune by boat and it is really worth it! There is stairway leading to the Grotto but it is long and not easy for children and elderly. Le Grotte di Nettuno is one of Alghero symbols besides being the largest natural grotto in Western part of Sardinia open to visitors.

All around the lake, you can find numerous columns of stalactites and stalagmites that can reach a height varying from 10 to 15 meters. On the right, you can see, finally, a small beach, once used by the monk seals from the Central Mediterranean, species now extinct.

Please note that motorships depart from the 1st of April to 31st of October.

Ticket to the caves is not included in the price. The excursion departures depend also on favourable weather conditions.
